Block22 will soon feature three vibrant restaurants and one of the region's premier coffeeshops.

Root Coffeehouse & Creperie

Located inside The Foundry on the east side of Broadway, Root Coffeehouse & Creperie has been a staple of Downtown Pittsburg since opening in 2015. Root moved into its new home at Block22 in November 2018.

Coming Summer 2019

Three new restaurants are coming soon to Block22 in Downtown Pittsburg! Each features a diverse, eclectic menu that, combined, will make 4th and Broadway one of the premier dining spots in the region.

The new restaurants, to be located inside the Commerce and Baxter buildings on the west side of Broadway, are:

The name says it all.

Owned by Heather and Roger Horton of Sweet Designs Cakery, TOAST will feature a variety of breads and toppings for toast. For example, one visitor may get white bread with seasonal veggies and hummus, and another could get sourdough bread with cinnamon and sugar.  Along with a wide variety of toast options, TOAST will also feature seasonal salads, vegetables, pastries and gelato. She said the menu will change with the seasons and feature locally-sourced ingredients.

A taste of the West Coast is coming to Pittsburg, Kansas.

Owners Travis Lester (PSU alum) and Justin Safier of Broseph Restaurant Group (BRG) are bringing their Santa Monica Brick + Mortar restaurant to the Midwest, opening one in Pittsburg and in the Kansas City area.

According to its website, Brick + Mortar “incorporates the elements of a classic neighborhood bar in a chic, luxurious way, while serving up a mouth-watering menu of Modern American fare that surprises the senses by adding a twist to the simplest dishes with unique, artistic presentation.”

The diverse menu at its Santa Monica location features a variety of salads, pizzas, and main dishes such as fish tacos, fried chicken, and what Lester describes as “the best burger you’ve ever had.”

Also owned by BRG, Juicy's will be a quick-service Mexican restaurant featuring fresh ingredients and a cool, modern vibe. Named for Justin Safier's beloved pet, Juicy, the Pittsburg location of Juicy's will be the first in the nation.
